Karl Kautsky was a #German Marxist #theoretician, an important figure in the development of Marxism. In 1883, he founded the journal of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Die Neue Zeit, and served as managing editor. After the First World War broke out, Kautsky advocated anti-war pacifism, and attended an international socialist conference in 1916.
