Kitasato Shibasaburoō was a Japanese #physician and bacteriologist, known as "the father of bacteriology of Japan". He successfully has grown the tetanus bacillus in pure culture, which was considered unlikely to succeed. Shibasaburoō developed a serum therapy for tetanus with Emil von Behring and had a tension from the world. He established many important institutions in Japan, including the Kitasato Institute, Institute of Infectious Diseases, Medicine Department of #Keio University, etc.
