Henri Barbusse was a French #novelist and social activist. He wrote the novel, Under Fire: The Story of a Squad, which based on his own experience, won the Prix Goncourt, and established the anti-war novelist status in 1916. Under Fire: The Story of a Squad sold a total of 350,000 books till 1924, it reached the best selling and long-term sales record. Barbusse was a Symbolism poet, then he became to a socialism and had convened an international anti-war meetings with Romain Rolland.
