Sahachiro Hata was a #bacteriologist who developed #Arsphenamine drug in 1909 with Paul Ehrlich. Hata had been researching #bacteriology and infectious #diseases in the Institute of Infectious Diseases in Japan before he was sent to Germany to study Hygiene and Demograph. In Germany, he assisted Paul Ehrlich in the discovery of arsphenamine. He also helped found the Kitasato University after he returned to Japan.
